Common questions
What counts as an item?
An item is a single CMS item (row/record) across all connected collections for a site. If you have 3 collections with 200, 300, and 100 items respectively, that’s 600 items total.
Is the deploy fee really one-time?
Yes. The deploy payment is a one-time flat fee per site. It covers schema creation and ongoing field management through the dashboard. There is no recurring fee unless you add sync.
Do I need sync?
Not necessarily. Many users only need the deploy — it creates the structure and lets you manage fields from one dashboard. Sync is for teams who want content changes to flow between platforms automatically.
Does Trellis store my content?
Trellis caches collection schemas and sync metadata to power the field manager and sync history. Your actual CMS content stays in your connected platforms — we don’t duplicate or warehouse it.
What happens if I disconnect a site?
Disconnecting a site revokes Trellis’s access. Your schema and field management history are retained in case you reconnect. No content in your connected platforms is modified or deleted.
Can I change sync tiers later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your sync tier at any time. Changes take effect immediately and billing is prorated.
